Activities Lahir and his wife Mahrooza
Lahir has been working as a teacher of English in different parts of Sri Lanka for twenty years. His first teaching experience was in the deprived areas of the Ratnapura and Kalutara districts. At these schools there are many children from extremely poor families.
These experiences made him decide to do something for these children. Especially the helpless and hopeless situation of the disabled children moved him deeply.
Meeting Helene and Jan van Beek gave him the chance to realise his idea to do something for these children. Lahir and his wife own a jewellery shop in Galle and both of them design jewellery. They have three sons. |
